SEAN P. RIORDAN, ESQ.
Sean graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in 2004 and immediately began representing injured workers in their claims for Workers’ Compensation, Social Security Disability, and NYS/NYC Disability Pensions. Quickly earning a reputation as an ardent litigator, especially in the Disability Pension arena, Sean began being named as counsel to various unions, benevolent organizations, and labor groups early in his career and has maintained those relationships for over 20 years.
Sean’s work in the disability pension forum has successfully changed the legal landscape surrounding Accidental and Performance of Duty Disability Pensions for municipal personnel throughout the state, including correction officers, police officers, court officers, civilian personnel, and teachers. Sean has appeared before the highest courts in NYS, including the NYS Court of Appeals and Appellate Division 3rd Dept., and helped create groundbreaking precedent in the disability field.
In addition to his legal work, Sean was an early advocate and lobbyist for World Trade Center rescue, recovery, and clean-up workers, joining with labor and non-profit organizations to fight for passage of the Zadroga bill. Using the skills he acquired during those many years of lobbying, Sean has gone on to become the Legislative Counsel to numerous labor organizations, focusing his lobbying efforts within New York.
Married for over 20 years and the proud father of two children, in his (infrequent) spare time, Sean can be found (loudly) rooting for his beloved Yankees and Knicks!
