We provide legal services in matrimonial proceedings whether uncontested or contested.
UNCONTESTED: When you and your spouse are getting a divorce and agree as to the issues such as children, finances, and the marital property after the divorce
If you file without a lawyer, the Court may dismiss your case if you do not provide all documents within the specific timelines or if you do not submit all the necessary paperwork that is involved.
CONTESTED: Your divorce will be contested if either you or your spouse:
- Do not want to get a divorce
- Disagree about the grounds (legal reasons) for the divorce
- Disagree about what will happen with your children, your finances, or your property after the divorce
The Court will require detailed information about your life in order to decide the issues you disagree on. A contested divorce will require both spouses to go to the Court frequently. You will need a lawyer to help you navigate the legal process.
Our office can help with the following types of cases:
Uncontested and Contested Divorces, Custody and Visitation, Guardianship of minors, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, Child Support, and Orders of Protection.
