The Triangle Shirtwaist Company Fire

The Workers’ Wake –Up Call of 1911

The Triangle Shirtwaist Company Fire claimed the lives of 146 low waged Ladies Garment Workers.

Nationally syndicated newspapers of the day exploited the tragedy by publishing shocking pictures.

The Workers’ Wake-Up Call heard from coast to coast sparked the 1911 National Labor Movement.

The Workers Wake-Up Call of 2018

This recent Supreme Court Anti-Union Decision discrediting the chargeability of “fair share” agency fees from non-consenting employees in a unionized public-sector workplace is now igniting a fresh firestorm of controversy. Heated questions stir up passionate discussions of Labor current events in the Media.

Our Founding Attorney Joseph A. Romano, Esq. had this to say on Janus v AFSCME:

“We must remember this: Any government mandate that potentially weakens any union, public or private is a WAKE-UP CALL. Beware of this current trend to weaken workers’ protections.”

And on that subject of workers’ health and safety, not only as an Attorney but as a history scholar Joe Romano, Esq. has a lot more to say.

“Because History tends to repeat itself…-”

We at Law Offices of Joseph A. Romano P.C. support ALL workers, unionized or not, private or public Sector alike. We are a large full-service Law Firm servicing the Greater New York Community of workers.

In our Workers’ Compensation segment of clients, we are seeing an increasing number of workers getting harmed at work and in need of a strong legal advocate.

Please feel free to share this information on your own Social Media and reach out to us below.

Check back in with us here for a new insight from Joseph A. Romano as he shares with us why Janus v AFSME is a Wake-Up Call for the future of all workers.

Next week’s Historic Topic: Meet the real people of New York City’s Unions whose collective leadership efforts led to the establishment of the United States Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration- what they would have to say about today’s Labor events.
