The Holidays are here! It’s the busiest time of year for road travel, therefore traffic snarls are everywhere. To make matters worse, frequent weather forecasts of “wintry mix” threaten to cause dangerous road conditions.
Together with our Founder Joseph A. Romano, Esq., we extend a special thank you to all those workers who keep our roads and rails safe for us to travel on during snowstorms!
Working outside in winter weather calls for precautions, the following information has been provided by;
The National Institute for Occupational Safety (NIOSH)
NIOSH Winter Report 2018
Sanitation, Construction, and Transit Workers are at the highest risk for exposure to conditions leading to “cold stress”.
Extremely cold or wet weather is a dangerous situation that can cause occupational illness and injuries such as hypothermia, frostbite, and trench foot.
Avoidance of the aforementioned may be as simple as wearing the proper protective clothing. Waterproof Boots to keep feet dry, heated gloves, warm hats under helmets.

Safe Holiday Driving
As motorists, whether shopping for presents or on our way to a friend’s Holiday Celebration, we vow to be extra cautious behind the wheel.
For the best “how to” directions, we turned to
The American Automotive Association (AAA)
AAA Winter Driving Standards of Safety:
- Drive slowly.
- Use threshold breaking. Keep the heel of your foot on the floor and use ball of foot to apply steady pressure on the brake pedal.
- Ensure all tires are properly inflated.
- Keep your gas tank full.
- Have extra windshield washer fluid.
- Clean snow off your car completely
