The Law Offices of Joseph A. Romano, P.C. on Thursday, November 16, 2017.

Thanks for reading our SSD 101 series! Have questions about Social Security Disability? We are a law firm that handles cases on a federal level. We can certainly answer any questions you have. SSD 101 is designed to give you the basics of Social Security Disability Law.SSI

To qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) you do not need any
work history and it is determined by financial need. If a client wishes to apply, you must respond 'yes' in the application for SSD. The potential recipient will be called into the local SSD office for an in person interview regarding finances. If the client is not interested in filing then they will receive a denial notice in the mail stating they do not qualify for SSI because they were not interested in filing. This denial does not have any effect on the SSD application.
