Are you a NYC Survivor, NYC Responders & NYC Participants and your health have been put at risk through this devastating tragedy? Did your occupation involve paid or volunteer time spent at the site of Ground Zero during the aftermath of 9/11? Did you spend a significant amount of time in the NYC area of lower Manhattan during the time frame following September 11, 2001-July 31, 2002?

As a Reminder:

  • NYC Survivor includes but not limited to a person was present in the in the dust or dust cloud on September 11, 2001; Area near Ground Zero for at least 4 days during the 4-month period beginning September 11, 2001; worked as a cleanup worker or performed maintenance work in Ground Zero during the 4 months starting September 11, 2001
  • NYC Responder includes but not limited to an individual, including current and former Federal employees, who worked or volunteered onsite in rescue, recovery, demolition, debris cleanup or related support services in lower Manhattan (south of Canal St.), the Staten Island Landfill, or the barge loading piers

Did you know?

The 9/11 VICTIMS’ COMPENSATION FUND that has paid billions to First Responders, Firefighters and others has now extended eligibility to include NYC Survivor, NYC Responders & NYC Participants. Medical Services have also amounted in astonishing amounts to order to provide care for a community of victims that potentially will surpass and multiply the number of victims who were murdered on 9/11 2001.

Act fast to get started on filing your claim! Here is what you need to do:

Gather information. You must be able to prove through documentation that you was nearby Ground Zero. If you were volunteering or getting paid to work in the area, get documentation. If you lived nearby, or attended school, obtain valid documents to affirm your physical presence.

With this information successfully registered before September 11, 2018, you will then have until 2020 to actually file a Post 9/11 Latent Illness/Injury claim.
