 “Well I won’t

 back down,

 this is MY HOMETOWN.

 You can flee

 but I’m sticking around.

 And I won’t back down.”

The WTC Volunteer Fund is administered by the Workers' Compensation Board and is now funded by New York State.

Whether you were a paid worker or an unpaid volunteer between September 11, 2001, and September 12, 2002, at the following locations: Ground Zero; Fresh Kills Landfill; the barges; the piers; and the morgues, New York State has passed legislation extending the deadline to register your service until September 11, 2018.

                         Paid Workers’ Eligibility Requirements:

Paid rescue, recovery and clean-up workers whose employers participate in the New York State Workers' Compensation System can file a Workers' Compensation claim for medical care and lost wage benefits.

Volunteers’ Eligibility Requirements:

Volunteers who performed rescue, recovery and clean-up are eligible for benefits through the World Trade Center Volunteer Fund.

Normally, unpaid volunteers are ineligible for workers' compensation benefits. However, the NY Workers' Compensation Law was amended Post 9/11 to provide coverage for WTC volunteers.

The DEADLINE to file a Notice of Participation in WTC Rescue, Recovery or Clean-Up Operations is SEPTEMBER 11, 2018.

Allow us to Register your “Paid Worker” or “Unpaid Volunteer”                                       9/11 PARTICIPATION with the                                                     New York State Workers' Compensation Board
